GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs clerical work undertaking a variety of typing, filing, and related tasks in the office; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Will perform basic data entry; general clerical/office work and related tasks as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Will learn our housing computer program (Tenmast).
Will prepare forms, records, reports, applications, and other materials. May act as receptionist, answer the telephone; respond to inquiries about the Boca Raton Housing Authority, routine procedures and policies and relay messages as required.
Compose routine correspondence; operate standard office machines, make copies of materials and assemble same for inclusion in reports, documents, etc.
Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of standard office practices, must be able to use computer and should be familiar with Excel and Word; general knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic; ability to type accurately at a rate of 40 WPM; ability to make arithmetical calculations and file alphabetically; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year experience working in a high-volume service environment with some experience in direct customer contact.
Experience in HCV programs preferable with a housing authority or public housing management company.
Physical effort may be required; lifting up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Walking, standing and / or stooping are required much of the time.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Position requires possession of a valid State of Florida driver’s license. Boca Raton Housing Authority is a drug free workplace.
